Airbus plans to launch an advanced unmanned aerial vehicle to inspect aircraft in maintenance hangars . The use of drones will reduce the time spent on routine inspections of aircraft, which are often performed visually. It is expected that the time for inspections will be reduced from one day to three hours, the aircraft builder reported .

UAV has already been demonstrated to representatives of several airlines who expressed interest in the new product. As reported in Airbus, the drones will be available for airlines in the IV quarter of this year. Now the certification of the development is expected in the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

UAV aircraft from Airbus will be equipped with an integrated video camera, an obstacle detection sensor, flight planning software and an inspection analysis program. The latter is ideal for inspecting the upper fuselage of an aircraft. Usually, to conduct an inspection of this area, you have to use a special platform .
