The British authorities will help with financing the export of narrow-bodied aircraft Bombardier CSeries . This decision was made a few weeks after the court rejected Boeing's lawsuit about illegal subsidization of these aircraft by Britain and Canada, the Financial Times reported.

Recall that the wings and parts of the fuselage of the new Canadian aircraft are produced at the Bombardier plant in Belfast (Northern Ireland). The Minister of Commerce of the country, Baroness Ron Feuerhead, said that the decision to sponsor the sale of two Korean Airlines aircraft in conjunction with the Export Development Corporation of Canada will support the CSeries program and its operation in the UK.

The Export Credit Guarantee Department of the United Kingdom will for the first time assist in the export of CSeries aircraft. In total, Korean Airlines ordered 10 VS CSeries in 2011 with an option for 10 aircraft and the right to purchase another 10 pieces.

The UK decision is another blow to Boeing, which last year unleashed a fierce campaign aimed at hindering the import of CSeries in the US (which is a key market for the corporation). The situation between the manufacturers of Boeing and Bombardier intensified in April 2017, when Boeing filed suit for the price dumping of Bombardier and the support of his government of Canada. The corporation accused the Canadian aircraft manufacturer of selling 75 CS100 aircraft to the American airline Delta Air Lines at a cost even lower than production. In the event of a positive decision on Bombardier, antidumping or countervailing duties would be imposed. The US Commerce Department confirmed this charge, but the US International Trade Commission (USITC), which made the final decision, found that importing Bombardier aircraft does not cause material damage to the US aircraft industry.

Nevertheless, the threat of imposing import duties led to negotiations on the transfer of the Airbus controlling stake in the CSeries program, in fact, at zero cost. In turn, Delta Air Lines refused to receive aircraft from Canada and decided to wait for the opening of the assembly line of such aircraft at the Airbus plant in Alabama (USA).

It should be noted that the UK Export Credit Guarantee Department provides financing at a time when Airbus support is limited in connection with the investigation of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes in connection with corruption charges against the aircraft manufacturer. Such assistance was not provided by the Department to the European producer .
