The United Engine-Building Corporation (UDK) plans to create a demonstration engine for the long-range thrust engine PD-35 by 2023 . In a series this power plant can go in 2028, the managing director of the UDK Perm Motors Sergey Popov told journalists.

According to Popov, despite the fact that when creating a new engine, the level of digitalization will be high, it will take a long time to check the power plant "in hardware". Begin a series of tests will be from the gas generator, which will take into account the experience of similar work on the PD-14, the certification of which will be held this year.

To test the new engine by 2021-2022. in Perm a separate testing complex will be created.

When developing PD-35, it is planned to use Russian components to the maximum. When creating the engine, new technologies and new composite materials will be introduced, which have not yet been used to create the engines of current generations. In particular, it is assumed that PD-35 can produce a composite turbine fan blade. "One of the trends that we support in conjunction with VIAM is the creation, for the first time in the history of the Russian aviation industry, of a composite fan blade of a turbine, probably for the very first sample of PD- 35 will go a steel spatula, but we know for sure that the designers are laying the possibility of production with composite blades into this project, "Popov said .
