The American helicopter manufacturer Bell Helicopter, which since February changed its name to just Bell, in late February introduced a new modification of the light single-engine helicopter Bell-407 . Helicopter Bell-407GXi, shown at the exhibition Heli Expo 2018, received a new complex of avionics Garmin G1000H NXi, as well as an upgraded version of the engine Rolls-Royce M250 .

As the chief executive officer Bell Mitch Snyder notes, the installation of the updated avionics Garmin will allow using the wireless technologies Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the helicopter. This will allow pilots to download flight plans to the on-board helicopter system directly from their personal mobile devices.

The new Rolls-Royce M250-C47E / 4 engine received a dual-channel electronic-digital control system. According to experts from Rolls-Royce, the engine performance in high altitude and high temperatures has been improved by 8%. Specific fuel consumption compared to the modification C47B / 8, which was installed on the previous model - 407GXP, became lower by 2%.

The helicopter Bell-407GXi has already been certified by the Ministry of Transport of Canada, in the near future it is expected to complete its certification by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The initial customer of the helicopter was the operator Air Methods, which signed a contract for the supply of six cars. The beginning of supplies is scheduled for this spring .
