In April, technical specialists of MIAT Mongolian Airlines are preparing to take off the first An-2 airplane re-engineed in Mongolia under the SibNIA project. At the technical base of the carrier in Ulaanbaatar, two machines are completely ready for the installation of the turbo-prop engines Honeywell TPE331 .

Technical director of MIAT Mongolian Airlines Ayush Tovd at the exhibition "MRO of aviation equipment in Russia and the CIS" told ATO.ru that this year the specialists of MIAT Mongolian Airlines plan to modernize five more An-2 aircraft, and the company plans to re-assemble 24 aircraft. Ayush Tuvd noted that all this park is necessary for the internal needs of the state and the opportunity to re-assemble An-2 for the external customers of the enterprise until more than once.

The Mongolian air authorities have already validated the Russian certificate of suitability of the TVS-2MS aircraft for operation. An-2, which has been re-engineered in Mongolia, will be operated under the name TVS-2MS-M (the last letter means "modernized"). It is assumed that the main difference between this version and TVS-2MS will be the installation of the Garmin 800 navigation system instead of the Garmin 500, as well as the TVS-2MS-M equipment in the future by Honeywell's auxiliary power unit (APU).

The need to install the APU Ayush Tuvd explained that the remodorized An-2 will be operated far from the technical base. This step, for example, allows you to solve the problem of charging batteries .
