Airbus in 2017 surpassed the previously announced forecast

Airbus CEO Tom Enders said that this was achieved despite a number of engine difficulties for the newest family of narrow-bodied A320neo airplanes .

Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) in the civil aircraft segment amounted to 3.554 billion euros, which is 26.4% more than the same period of 2016. According to the company, this was due to an increase in supply volumes and a change in the exchange rate. A similar figure for Airbus Helicopters showed a negative trend and decreased by 3.7% (a total of 337 million euros). Recall that for 2016, the drop in EBIT in this segment was 18%. Corrected EBIT allows you to assess the effectiveness of operating activities without taking into account one-time payments.

The producer's revenue remained almost at the level of 2016 and amounted to 66.8 billion euros.

The volume of orders received amounted to 158 billion euros, which is almost 18% more than in 2016 and the order book as of the end of 2017 reached 997 billion euros, 6% less than in 2016. The total order book amounted to 7,265 civilian aircraft end of the year), which is 5.7% more than at the end of 2016. The aircraft builder received 1109 firm orders for civilian aircraft and exceeded the figures of the previous year by 52%.

In 2017, Airbus delivered 718 aircraft, of which 558 are narrow-bodied A320 aircraft: 181 A320neo (+ 60.2%) and 377 A320ceo (+ 2%). The manufacturer recalled that the four lines of the final assembly of these aircraft will enable the company to increase the pace of assembly of this model to 60 units. per month by mid-2019.

In the helicopter segment, as previously reported, the number of solid orders fell by 5% compared to the data for 2016 and amounted to 335 aircraft .
