ATR began work on creating a cargo version of the regional turboprop aircraft ATR 72-600. The agreement on the delivery of 30 such aircraft with an option for another 20 cars was concluded with the American carrier FedEx Express, the manufacturer said. Specialized cargo version of the aircraft, designated ATR 72-600F, will have a fuselage without portholes, reinforced floor panels, improved avionics and two cargo hatchways (large, located in the front of the fuselage, and the second - in the tail section). The main cargo cabin corresponds to class E. The airplane is adapted for both "inval" loads (total volume 74.6 cubic meters), and for palletized loads and containers (up to seven LD3 containers). FedEx Express stressed that the carrier was actively involved in the creation of a cargo version of the aircraft in conjunction with ATR. Deliveries of new cars are planned for 2020-2025. It is assumed that the company will annually receive about six aircraft. The new ATR 72-600F is designed to modernize the operator's fleet, improve the fuel efficiency and reliability of the fleet . ———————————————— AVIONIC - Magazine about aviation ✈ 📃
